Glebe Town Hall

City of Sydney Council
2 years

We are extremely proud of our involvement with the Glebe Town Hall Project, for City of Sydney Council; the landmark, located on the corner of St John’s Rd and Westmoreland Street in Glebe, saw a marvellous transformation during 2012 and it now reveals the true beauty and richness of its Italianate design as a result of sensitive Heritage treatment. A fine balance was found allowing both present day needs and historical/cultural building fabric their place. A fine public building now serves the local community for many years to come. The original building was completely refurbished and a new extension constructed. The Lodge required structural stabilisation and underpinning; fire services were installed and a full commercial kitchen installed. The clock tower was restored and the Welsh Slate roof renewed. A lift and new entry both improve accessibility, while the facade required extensive desalination prior to protection.
